About Me

Kya Montague is a Southern New Jersey native who enjoys the beach, the sounds of the ocean and a good love story. She began writing short stories at age 7, and developed a love of writing poetry by her teenage years. In 2021, Kya debuted her first romance novel, "A Love Like This, Part 1," which has become a fan favorite. Since then, she has expanded her catalog while 'penning love stories, one character at a time.'  Staying true to her poetic roots, Kya loves to infuse the whimsical flair and thoughtful language 

of poetry into her novels.

In late 2023, Kya added on to her creative endeavors and started a podcast showcasing the immense talent in the Black literary community called, "The Mic'd Up Podcast." She finds immense joy in connecting with new readers and supporters of her creative ventures online and in-person.

She currently resides in Virginia where she's working on bringing more love stories to readers who never tire of falling in love with characters who 

are falling in love.
